The RPLIDAR A2 360° Laser Scanner is the new generation of 360 degree 2D lidars. The RPLIDAR A2 adopts a low-cost laser triangulation measurement system developed by SLAMTEC, and therefore has excellent performance in all kinds of indoor and outdoor environments without direct sunlight exposure.
It can take up to 8000 ranging laser samples per second with high rotation speed. Equipped with SLAMTEC’s patented OPTMAG technology, it can eliminate the lifetime limitations of traditional LIDAR system, allowing it to work stably for a long time.
- The system can perform 360 degree 2D scanning within a range of 12 meters. Generated 2D point cloud data can be used in modeling, localization and object/environment modeling.
- Before leaving the factory, each RPLIDAR A2 has passed strict tests to ensure that the laser output power meets FDA Class I standards.
- The typical scanning frequency of the RPLIDAR A2 360° laser scanner is 10hz (600rpm). In this condition, the resolution will be 0.9°. And the actual scanning frequency can be freely adjusted within the 5-15hz range according to users’ requirements.
- The RPLIDAR A2 consists of a range scanner core and mechanical power parts which rotate the core at high speed. When working normally, the scanner will rotate and scan clockwise. And users can get the range sweep data through RPLIDAR’s communication interface and control the start, stop and rotation speed of rotation motor through PWM.
The RPLIDAR A2 comes with RPM detection and an adaptive system. The system will automatically adjust the angular resolution according to the actual rotation speed.
