DESCRIPTION:

• Arduino Yun is the first member of a revolutionary new line of WIFI products combining the power of Linux with the ease of use of Arduino. Yún means “cloud” in Chinese, thus referring to the online world we know as the “cloud”.
• This card allows the Arduino ecosystem to easily connect to complex WebServices and Web/Cloud applications. Arduino Yún is a combination of a classic Arduino (based on an Atmega32U4 processor) and an on-board WIFI system (system-on-a-chip) running under Linino (a GNU/Linux MIPS OS based on OpenWRT, a Linux distribution for embedded wireless system).
• Designed in collaboration with Dog Hunter, a company with extensive Linux experience, the card uses the linino distribution which provides signed packages thus ensuring the authenticity of the software installed on the embedded system.
• The Linux machine is directly incorporated on the board of an Arduino Leonardo and the two systems are interconnected. So it is very easy for Arduino to run a command on the “Linux part” and use the embedded system as an Ethernet and Wifi interface.
